CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLIC PARK IN AL GHARAFA

It is Qatar’s objective to promote and enhance the continuous development of public spaces and plazas that would provide social, environmental, and recreational benefits to its citizens and residents.

Through thoughtful design and engineering, it brought about plans for public parks which incorporated inclusivity, open spaces, and the introduction of the latest technologies.

The development of the Al Gharafa Public Park is an example of Qatar’s ingenuity and advancement.

The park provides sprawling green expanses and hills while utilizing native and imported plantations in the middle of urban spaces. It also comprises handicapped-accessible pathways and walkways, inclusive play areas for children 2-5 and 6-12 respectively, physical fitness areas, and complementing sports amenities for jogging and biking.

It features bespoke in-situ seating areas, family gatherings zones, BBQs, and bike rentals throughout the parks. Construction of new facilities such as male and female toilets, prayer rooms, and food kiosks are part of the development.

Also within the scope are service buildings including substations, a chiller yard, a district cooling yard, and underground water tanks and pumprooms.

Al Gharafa Park is the first air-conditioned outdoor park in Qatar, along with Umm Al Saneem Park.
